SERVICE DESCRIPTION:Baby Connection (1 hour) Baby Connection is a free weekly drop-in opportunity for parents to meet other parents, weigh their babies, to learn about infant feeding and ask questions about other parenting concerns. All families are welcome. Parents have an opportunity to meet briefly with an infant feeding specialist. As we are weighing your baby, you will be able to ask breast- or formula-feeding questions. The focus is on supporting parents in understanding normal infant behavior, weight gain, and sleeping and feeding behavior while they connect with other parents.
Grandparents Today (2.5 hours) Everything new parents want their baby's grandparents to learn, from the latest information about newborn care to respecting boundaries. This class is designed for grandparents awaiting a new arrival, or within the first months of a baby's life, and presents updates for the Dr. Spock generation. Many questions come up when talking about a new baby. What is back-to-sleep? Tummy time? Car seat inspections? Today's parents have dozens of new products, new ideas and new "rules" that barely existed 30 years ago. This three-hour class provides the perfect update for new grandparents-to-be.
Multiple Expectations (3 hours) Are you expecting twins, triplets or more? This course is designed as supple- mental education for the unique needs of families expecting multiple births. Learn about the labor and birth process for multiples, how to identify pre- mature labor and tips for prevention. We will also discuss feeding issues and equipment needs.
Prenatal Fitness -- Preparing Your Body for Baby (2 hours) Designed for the expectant mom. Learn exercises to stretch and strengthen key muscle groups to help your body during pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum. Also learn specific body mechanics and back protection strategies to use while caring for baby and handling baby equipment.
